Scanner Interface Wiring

The scanner interface unit comes with approximately 9 metres of four core screened cable which should not be extended. The enclosure is a standard UK 40mm deep surface mount box as used for power outlets, light switches etc. Once the box is mounted to the wall the cable should be trimmed to length and wired into the keypad enclosure using a suitable cable gland. Locate the five pin connector marked "AUX." and make the following connections:

Yellow core plus the screen connects to the GND pin.
Red core connects to the RXD pin.
Black core conects to the TXD pin.

The scanner's 9 pin connector plugs into the interface box and takes its power from the supplied power supply unit which connects to the round connector at the end of the its cable. The power supply requires a local 230VAC 13A outlet to plug into.
